Blackwater - Kluskuz

This is a south facing slope with a long history of fire. More work is required to collect baseline data and identify recommendations for required treatments.

2014

Completed assessments and burn plans for this area in 2013. The eastern edge was burned by wildfire in 2014. And, though we recognize the need for a prescribed burn, there are some fuels that put the plantation on the northern edge at risk, so the burn won’t be carried out the removal of these fuels.

There is some concern that suppression activities (guard construction) may have damaged the grasslands. The rehabilitation of the guard should be monitored over-time.
